10 Looks We Love From Paris Fashion Week

Perusing the shows and collections from Paris Fashion Week is always a good reminder of why we love this world so much.

The attention to detail, the theater, the fabrics, the surprises. It's an amalgamation of craft and vision, and that's why it's always SO hard to choose favorite looks from the myriad of miracles.

This time around, we chose 10 that seemed to personify not only the dexterity of this round of spring/summer shows but also the old and amazing ideas of fine ready-to-wear that were made new again. And by new, we mean completely amazing.

Check out the looks that made the cut of killer runway moments.

Chanel: When we read that WWD declared Karl's latest delivery "Brilliant!" we really couldn't agree more. Just look at this tour de griege...well, brilliant!

Alexander McQueen: There was so much to love about this gothic-fairy'esque collection, but, when push comes to shove, we'll take a black lace and beaded pantsuit any day of the week.

John Galliano: If for no other reason, we should all consult Galliano when we need to be reminded that fashion is so much about risk, impracticality, and the unknown. At least those are the things that make it fun and inspiring...like this little number. It shouldn't work, but delightfully, it does.

Dries van Noten: Let's be honest, there's rarely a DVN collection that we don't like. However, this one, which was rife with soft, creamy pastels pierced with dark tones like this look, reminded us why this designer really can do no wrong.

Prada: Again, this is one of those looks that should likely be a disaster, but somehow Miuccia Prada is the kind of mad scientist that makes it a masterpiece instead of a mess.

Stella McCartney: Moments during Stella McCartney's show may have almost looked dowdy given the simplicity of the shapes and the palette, but in this designer's hands, an all-white suit like this is absolutely dazzling.

Louis Vuitton: What didn't we love about Marc's latest fanciful ode to Louis Vuitton? And yes, hands down, this is what we want to wear to our next party.

Fendi: One of the best recent collections from Fendi yet, this skirt look was reminiscent of something Sigourney Weaver might have worn on the weekends in Working Girl...only cooler.

YSL: Having just watched the old Yves Saint Laurent documentary, it seems this collection may have well dipped deep into the house's archives. While we adore all the references to the '70s, there's something utterly modern and yet still extremely YSL about this dreamy skirt "suit."

Celine: We can't imagine anyone on the planet other than Phoebe Philo who could mix oxblood with periwinkle and make it not only work, but SING.
